Kjell Johansson (5 October 1946 – 24 October 2011) was a distinguished Swedish table tennis player renowned for his powerful forehand, earning him the nickname "The Hammer." Born in Eskilstuna, Sweden, Johansson became one of the leading figures in international table tennis during the 1960s and 1970s.
Johansson's career was marked by his exceptional sportsmanship. At the 1967 World Championships in Stockholm, during a decisive match against Soviet player Stanislav Gomozkov, Johansson conceded a point after the referee missed a critical edge ball, leading to his own defeat. This act of fairness earned him the UNICEF Fair Play Award.
